2016 is the year of major NFV rollouts in production networks. Implementations focus on key enterprise use cases for virtualization, including SD-WAN and virtual CPE, which promise to drive new revenues and a completely different customer experience. Early movers are shaping the way the market thinks about network operations in a virtualized environment. They are pioneering new service orchestration and assurance approaches and influencing the future of operational systems. Work to produce a common information model for NFV operations and an open source Management and Orchestration (MANO) system is underway with significant implications for the operational landscape. Operators are talking about the need for a ‘revolution’ in operations, including organizational, process and system change.

Now In its third year, OSS in the Era of SDN and NFV: Evolution vs Revolution will continue to build on its successes as the industry’s premier forum for the discussion of the impact of SDN and NFV on network operations and the OSS.
